Pastor Phil Vogels
Pastor Phil Vogels was born in France as his father was in the United States Air Force. Growing up in a military family has given Pastor Phil a unique perspective of the various cultures that make up the people of this big wide world that we all call home. After spending time in places like Japan, Virginia, Kansas, and California, Pastor Phil and his family ended up in San Antonio, Texas. All five children in Pastor Phil’s family all graduate from the same High School (a rarity in a military family) and his parents, along with two sisters, still reside in San Antonio.
Before becoming a United Methodist Pastor, Phil worked in the Computing industry as a high level support analyst and has been in Colorado for close to 30 years, having resided in Colorado Springs and Longmont before turning his attention to Ministry. He has served the congregations of Eaton, Pierce, Akron, Brush, Platteville, Mead, and now serves the fine people of Windsor, Colorado.
In his spare time, Pastor Phil serves as a Chaplain in the Civil Air Patrol (an auxiliary of the United States Air Force), and has been an assistant for his wife, Cindy, as she has led Girl Scout troops in Eaton and Akron, Colorado. In the month of December, you can find Pastor Phil in the cast of the Nutcracker Ballet in Greeley, Colorado. Oh, did we mention that Pastor Phil also does tap dance?
Pastor Phil’s goal is to help create relationships both within and outside of the walls of the First United Methodist Church of Windsor. It is through relationships that we get to know one another and the better we know each other, the better we can be there to help people as we journey through this life together.
If Pastor Phil could have one wish it would be that everyone in the world would be able to get a glimpse at the joy and love available to us all when we simply turn towards Jesus.
He is humbled by the opportunity to serve the good people of Windsor and no matter what your background, or faith, or skin color, or culture, or gender, you are welcome to share in this relationship with one another as we search for meaning and as we search for Jesus.
Pastor Phil’s office is always open so come on in for a cup of coffee or a good conversation.
