The video-led portion is by Ben Witherington, a prolific religious writer who is the Amos Distinguished Professor of New Testament at Asbury Theological Seminary of the United Methodist Church. The video is entitled, "Revelation and the End Times, Unraveling God's Message of Hope." The Book of Revelation is filled with rich and perplexing symbolism, yet its message is one of hope for all Christians. This is a five week study with no homework, but handouts are used each week. Each lesson is complete in itself, but you would benefit by attending all five sessions at 8:30 on Sundays downstairs. On October 30, we shall finish Lesson 2 and begin Lession 3. This class has been well-received, so Jan Cook, the teacher, is willing to repeat the class after Christmas at a time convenient to the majority. Jan will also be teaching the church's Advent Study, "The Journey, Walking the Road to Bethlehem," by Adam Hamilton. This class will also be at 8:30 downstairs every Sunday morning Starting November 20. Everybody welcome any time!
Jan has been an Advanced Lay Speaker for a number of years, including instruction on "Teaching and Creating Bible Study for Adults." Her passion is teaching and learning more about the Bible. She has been to Israel three times and is current on the archeology of Bible times.
