A Sunday full of Celebrations

This Sunday we observe Pentecost, the birth-day of the Christian church. We invite everyone to wear RED  to celebrate the fire of the Holy Spirit. We'll be recognizing 3 graduating Seniors: Grace Johnson, Allison Spirek, and Alex Tanner, and we will also have the honor of baptizing one-year-old Sebastian Maxwell and his father Richard. There is much to share and celebrate! Please join us online or in the sanctuary at 10:30AM. And mark your calendars - we'll be moving back to 10:00AM on June 6th. This week we will be singing Breathe on Me, Breath of God and Spirit of the Living God as we celebrate Pentecost.

NOTE: in order not to stigmatize anyone's choices, and to warmly welcome and do our best to protect ALL people, facial coverings are still required in any group larger than 10 people. Thank you for your compassion and patience!

Welcome to Our New Staff Members!
    Family Ministries Developer
Hi! My name is Brooklyn McBride. I grew up in NoCo & currently live in Fort Collins with my husband Mike and our dog Diego. We love good coffee, live music, and exploring new places. I am an online MDiv student at Fuller Seminary (CA), and I've spent the last few years working in youth ministry (most recently in Greeley). More than anything, I love hearing people's stories, and I feel like it's my life's mission to build bigger tables for everyone to come and share in the love of Jesus. We're super excited to get to know and serve the FUMC Windsor community!
    Office Manager
Hi! My name is Carol Measel and I am excited for the opportunity to serve as the office manager at First United Methodist Church of Windsor. My husband, Matt, and I have lived in Colorado for the past 7 years. We have four children (Gracie-17, Callan-14, Niall-8, Sadie-5) that attend Windsor Charter Academy. As a family we enjoy traveling, camping, paddle boarding and kayaking. We are originally from Arkansas but have fallen in love with Colorado. We are proud to call Windsor home and look forward to building stronger relationships within the church and community.
    Baccalaureate
The Class of 2021 from Windsor High is currently quarantined, but we will not let COVID stop us! Join faith leaders at Bethel Lutheran TONIGHT, Wednesday, May 19th at 7PM to offer a hybrid worship service honoring our graduates.
    Our Graduates

    Alex Tanner
Alex is graduating from Windsor High School.  He plans to attend Northeastern Junior College where he will study accounting and play golf for the Plainsmen.

    Calling All Youth
Incoming 6th graders through outgoing Seniors are invited to a WSYG (Walnut Street Youth Group) Lock-in at Bethel Lutheran this month. Adults are still needed to chaperone, contact Mandy Toms. Background checks required. Please register your teens here. There will be monthly events for families, children and youth this summer!
    Calling All Kids
We are co-hosting Vacation Bible School at Bethel Lutheran Church for kids ages 3 to 5th grade, from 9AM-12PM June 14-18. Register here, registration is capped at 50 kids (first come, first served). Pastor Emily and others from our church will be launching into outer space - wanna join them? Volunteer here
    Covid Remembrance
Our Mountain Sky Conference has set aside a day of remembrance for collective grieving, healing and renewal. Trees are living symbols that nurture healing and remind us of God’s promise for new life. On Sunday, June 6th, we are invited to plant trees across the Conference. Two UMC camps will receive donations to support reforestation for memorial groves: Flathead Lake UM  Camp in Rollins, MT and Buckhorn UM Camp in Bellvue, CO. Click here to donate.
    Chancel Choir
This Sunday we are debuting the virtual Choir in worship! You are invited to join us for the upcoming recordings. No experience needed, 1-on-1 rehearsals available. Contact Music Director Megan Mellenthien today!
    Annual UMW Fall Bazaar
Our United Methodist Women are having a craft sale in November to raise money for different local and interglobal missions.  We are relying on donations of your crafts!  Please spend this summer working on your crafts and please donate them in the fall for this important cause.  The date will be announced later.
Monthly Mission Focus: Congo Water Project
Although this is our May focus, we recycle metal year round! Keep that in mind as you open those soda and tin cans. Collect them at home and bring them in to us. Also keep us in mind with the metal scraps cluttering up the garage. Keep the Congo in mind when you or your neighbors remodel your kitchen or bath. Our most recent recycling load brought in $173.80 and since we started this project in 2015 we have raised $5,517 to support the all-volunteer Congo Projects for Relief (CPR). A little bit of money goes a long way with this project, which is building a sustainable water system for the village of Musumba in the Kapanga District of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Drop off your donations in the back parking lot behind the labeled gate.
    Birthdays and Anniversaries
Happy Birthday to Vikki Flemming (5/23), Marilyn Shouse (5/25), and Kevin Johnson and Steve Christian (5/27).
Happy Anniversary to John and Sandy Lee 38 years on 5/21, Eric and Jessica Freitag 30 years on 5/25, and Kevin and Jill Bull 9 years on 5/26.

Please share your dates with us!
    Prayer Requests

Prayers for our church and our pastoral transition as Emily leaves in July to serve Christ Church in Denver. Prayers for the graduates, those being baptized, all who are ill or recovering, those grieving the loss of loved ones, and for our homebound members Ann, Eileen, Judy, Bud, Bob, and Don.

    The Mountain Sky Conference offers:

May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, also known as Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. We give thanks to Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander clergy and laity throughout the Mountain Sky Conference for their witness and ministry. This past year, the USA witnessed a growing number of hate crimes against Asians and Asian Americans, a reminder that discrimination and racism not only have been a part of our history but still exist today. Let us celebrate and honor these siblings across our connection. More details and resources here.
