As whipping winds and raging wildfires force evacuations across our mountain communities, and political discord has people shouting on street corners and disrupting family dinners, it is time for us all to come together. Right now.
A poem by Vera Chipman
Have you looked around you lately?
At the earth, the moon, the Stars?
At the Mountains, at the oceans?
All the beauties that are ours?
Have you wondered how they got there,
all the wonders that you see?
Have you ever wondered
at the sense of you and me?
Have you wondered at the power and the Glory of the one,
who brought us all together by the Giving of His son?

Finding Common Ground: Compassion,
from Isaiah 34:1-3a and Ephesians 4:1-6
All Saints Day, Nov. 1 The wild goose in flight is a sign of the Spirit, which we'll use this year to remember those we've loved and lost, whose spirits now fly free. Please send names to the church office of anyone you'd like to honor.
Thanksgiving Project This year we join St. Alban’s Episcopal and other churches to provide meals for families in need. Nominations are from schools and pastors (let Rev. Emily know if you need help). Rather than delivering food baskets, we are collecting funds to purchase grocery gift cards. Please give online, in-person or by mail (note: Missions/Thanksgiving).
- Send Pastor Emily a note of thanks (her new address is: 9799 N. 89th St, Longmont, CO 80503) - Contribute to the Pastor's Discretionary Fund to support those in need (designate "PDF")
- Contribute to a monetary gift (designate "SPRC/Pastor Emily")
We want YOU! The United Methodist Church invites and empowers all people to preach, lead and care for others with integrity and skill. The next Foundations Basic Course in the Certified Lay Speaker/Lay Minister program begins next week. Please contact Pastor Emily to discuss or join! Click here for more info!
Virtual Baby Shower
Not yet many presents under the tree... Alexia Cunningham-Baca and Vincent are expecting a son, Apollo, on Dec. 16th. This young couple is registered at Target, so you can order online and have gifts delivered to the church, or drop them off. Jaime Cummings and our New Parents Ministry will deliver them around Thanksgiving/early Dec.
The Thursday night women's group invites you to "Advent, The Weary World Rejoices," a 5-week study (Oct. 29- Dec. 3) with daily reading and weekly activities for adults, teens and children. We meet Thursdays 5:30- 7PM at the church (with safety measures) or on Zoom. All are welcome. Books are available online or by contacting Pat Ferrell. Remember the hope, peace, joy and love that Jesus offers, not just at Christmas!
