Experiencing Grief?
We all have lost something this year, and we deal with loss in many different ways. Some rebound fairly quickly, while others struggle with their new realities as much as they wrestle with their feelings or grief. Change is never easy - but throughout the ages, God gives us reassurances that we do not face loss alone. We have songs, psalms, relationships and hope to lean on. Did you know we had 28 people in church last Sunday, and 30 devices watching live online? If you are considering coming back to church, or would like to watch online, but have concerns or need assistance, please reach out to Pastor Emily, Care Team Co-Chair Meg Persavich or any of your Angels, Leaders, or Staff. We are here to answer your questions and help you get connected in any way that feels safe to you. There are alternatives: stopping by the church during the week (when few are around), private Communion or counseling sessions (in-person, on the phone, or online), and porch visits or calls. Please join us this Sunday at 10:30AM in-person (with Covid-precautions) or online at the YouTube link below. We continue Virtual Fellowship Hour at 11:30AM each week - just click that link, we'd love to "see" you there!
Blessings, love and peace, even as we grieve, Pastor Emily

LIVE worship Sunday 09/13/2020 at 10:30AM, Wrestling with God, Genesis 32:22-31.
(feed begins a few minutes early)
What are you wrestling with?

We are wrestle - with pandemics, natural disasters, our fears, our insecurities. But the Bible (Old and New Testament) offer ways to move through the struggles, taking them to God and Jesus. Read Genesis 32 this week to learn how one of our spiritual forefathers handled his wrestling match with God.
If you have considered joining us in-person on Sundays, know that we've only had 20-25 of our maximum of 50 people  in the sanctuary, that we are all wearing masks, keeping 8-10 feet social distance, and using hand sanitizer. If you are not quite ready, but would like to visit the sanctuary or Prayer Room during the week, we are open Tuesday-Friday 10:00AM - 3:00PM. The private service of Communion, counsel or prayer is available if you call ahead. Please worship with us this Sunday at 10:30AM in-person or online at this YouTube link (which you can also find on our Facebook page and church website). We will be celebrating a Virtual Fellowship Hour after worship. Grab yourself a coffee, cuppa tea or something delightful to eat, then click this link to catch up!
Blessings, love and peace, even as we wrestle, Pastor Emily
The Finance Committee will meet on Tuesday, September 15th at 5:30PM. Our annual generosity campaign begins early this year - in September. Please begin praying now about ways to EXTEND your love and giving in the coming months and year. To give, you can stop by the office (Tues-Fri 10AM-3PM), mail a check, give online or via text message (with button).

LIVE worship Sunday 09/06/2020 at 10:30AM, Begin and End with Jesus
(feed begins a few minutes early)
Are we nearing an end?
Or just beginning?

This Sunday is our final Pray Every Day series worship, the conclusion to 10 summer weeks of deep prayer and contemplation, using Christian prayer beads. It has been good to quietly be with the Lord when the world around us is reeling in chaos. We hope you have found some peace, some connection, clutching your beads, and actively finding ways each week to practice your faith. This week we end at the beginning - with the empty cross at the end of each bead strand. All our days, our very lives, begin and end and begin again in Jesus Christ. He is the reason for every season, a firm foundation for our every baby step of faith.

As the summer slides into autumn, we wonder how you are doing? Are you worshiping in the church, online, or somewhere else? Do you still feel connected? If not, what might you need in order to feel that way? Some have suggested I share more information with you: that we have only had about 25 of our maximum of 50 people present on Sundays in the sanctuary, that we are all wearing masks, holding social distance, and using hand sanitizer, and that everyone present is feeling safe. There is also a possibility for those who want to come to the church but not be in the sanctuary on Sundays - we can have 35 people or less in Fellowship Hall or the basement classroom. If you'd like to visit the sanctuary, but not when others are present, it and the beautiful Prayer Room (off to the right of the stage/dais) are open Tuesday - Friday 10:00AM - 3:00PM. If you let me or Ali in the Office know when you are coming, I'd be honored to offer you a private service of Communion, counsel or prayer.

Please worship with us this Sunday at 10:30AM in the sanctuary (with Covid-19 precautions), or online at this YouTube link (which you can also find on our Facebook page and church website)... thanks for your prayers and presence! We will be celebrating a Virtual Fellowship Hour after worship. Grab yourself a coffee, cuppa tea or something delightful to eat, then click this link to catch up!

Blessings, love, peace and my PRAYERS be with you, Pastor Emily

Our church finances are holding steady, as we look towards our annual generosity campaign in September and October. Please look for ways to EXTEND your love and giving this season. And remember: you can stop by the office or give via mail, online, or even text message. Please take a moment to pray about your contribution and joyfully give whatever God leads you to offer!
Leadership Council has been postponed until October as Chairman Perry Cogburn will be away on a motorcycle tour. Safe travels, Perry!
On Thursday, September 17th at 5:30PM the Thursday Women's Bible Study group will meet to begin a new text:"Footnotes, Major Lessons from Minor Bible Characters" by Julie Lyles Carter. LIVE worship Sunday 08/30/2020 at 10:30AM, Move with the Holy Spirit

(feed begins a few minutes early)
Need to get moving?
This Sunday we are on our next-to-last of the 10 summer prayer beads, a fiery red one to remind us to move when the Holy Spirit (the fire of God's love) tells us to take action! Do you need a walk, a nap, some alone time, or some friend or family time? How about a song, dance, or simple good stretch? Have you been thinking about someone, but haven't picked up the phone or a pen in a while? Well... maybe it's time to get moving!  Join us Sunday at 10:30AM in the sanctuary (with face coverings and social distance), or online at this YouTube link (which you can also find on our Facebook page and church website)... thanks for your prayers and presence!

Also, in September, the clergy (pastors) and laity (everyone else) in our four-state region (called the Mountain Sky Conference) is invited on a virtual Pilgrimage to the Land of Love. I will be taking the journey, and I invite you to join me, as we make an honest, God-led investigation of our embedded beliefs in an effort to dismantle racism and other forms of division in our hearts, home and society. Click the link below for more information.
Despite the chaotic world around us, our finances remain steady (though lower than expected, so we are keeping expenses down). We are grateful for all who faithfully give - in person (on Sundays or during the week by stopping at the office), by mail, online, or even via text message. We will be switching to a new online payment system in October (details to come). Please take a moment to pray about and joyfully give whatever God leads you to offer!
