Worship LIVE this Sunday 08/23/2020 at 10:30AM, "Pray for the whole World."
(feed starts a few minutes early)
Prayer works! Give it a try
What in the world?!? My eyes have been itching and burning all week - and we had to cancel plans to go swimming last weekend. Our state is on fire. Across Colorado, firefighters and support crews are working around the clock to protect our land, structures and people. They need your prayers, alongside all those fighting the Covid-19 pandemic, and all those just struggling to breathe or make it through the most difficult back-to-school season yet!
Our summer series, Pray Every Day, focused on intercession last week, lifting up specific people, places and concerns. This Sunday, we'll study John 17:17-26 to uncover Jesus's plans for his disciples and followers in this world after he departed it. Join us Sunday at 10:30AM in the sanctuary (with face coverings and social distance), or online at this YouTube link (which you can also find on our Facebook page and church website)... thanks for your prayers!
Love, even in smoke, Pastor Emily Flemming
Church finances are holding steady, even when some of us may feel that we are not. Please prayerfully consider what you can do to support this church and community - and give whatever you can generously and joyfully!

Last Sunday we tried something new - Fellowship Time on Zoom video! Some got it, others (like the Pastor) didn't! So we'll keep trying a few more weeks. Click this link or the photo above on Sunday at 11:30 A.M. to join. If you know someone who might like to join us, but isn't online, dial: +1 253 215 8782, enter Meeting ID: 968 4829 3425, and Passcode: 779947 to participate. Please only share with trusted friends to discourage "trolling."

Habitat for Humanity Faith Build
Our church's Build Date has been rescheduled to September 19th! No experience required. If you'd like to volunteer, click this link or the photo to email Cheryl Gerstner (740-683-4459), or call her or Cathy Bell (719-640-9374). Please consider your own age, health and risks; pandemic precautions are in place (face covering, social distance, own sack lunches, max. 8 volunteers on site, outdoors). We hope you will join us!

Labor Day Weekend
This years Labor Day festivities look a lot different than in the past. Normally, we would be gearing up for our annual parade, Cinnamon Roll Sale and Harvest Festival. Many events have been reimagined and will still take place, like the hot air balloon launches, a Doggy Dip, a movie in the park, and much more. Click the photo or this link for more info.

Happy Anniversary to Melinda and Jeff Stephan (50 years on 8/22), Cheryl Ann and Gary Lindblad (13 years on 8/25), and Heather and Mike Reed (20 years on 8/26).

... prayer is the only solution
For anyone who tried to join worship this past Sunday online - I APOLOGIZE!! It was a perfect storm of technical difficulties - first the livestream didn't work, then the computer, then both (or neither)... and so it continued. My feathers were truly ruffled, not just because I like things to run smoothly, but also because I knew there were about 20 computers online, waiting for us to start - and there was no way I could meet your expectations or even clearly communicate our troubles. To those who tuned in (or tried to), THANK YOU. And for those who didn't, here's a link to most of the service:
Worship last Sunday 08/09/2020 at 10:30AM, Prayer is Love in Action
We'll try to do better this week:
Today we had a consultation with a tech expert and ordered some new hardware, so you will definitely see improvements over the next few weeks. We know that sound/volume continues to be a concern, and we thank you for your patience! We have received a $400 grant from the Mountain Sky Conference to join a technology cohort (handful of churches working with a pastor/consultant to improve our technical capabilities)... just in the nick of time! Please pray for us as things continue to change - and if you are interested to join Ali Hillman, my husband Regis Schoedel and me in this work, please let us know.
This Sunday, we'll be focusing on the power of intercessory prayer (praying for others). Read Luke 18:1-8 for a sneak preview. And join us Sunday at 10:30AM in the sanctuary (with face coverings and social distance), or online at this YouTube link (which we will also place on our Facebook page and website).... we appreciate your prayers as we work out all the bugs!
Love and grace, Pastor Emily Flemming

Office Hours: 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.

We are trying something new beginning this Sunday at 11:30 A.M. - a Virtual Fellowship time on Zoom. Please click the photo above to join us! Praying for the tough-to-love

A few months ago, I preached on the importance of love in action and challenged you to pray for those you find tough to love. Many of you took my challenge to heart, and have truly wrestled with it. Praying for someone is an act of will, a conscious choice to send good vibes in the direction of someone who has hurt or wronged you. It is counter-cultural, against our intuition and training, it's absurd.... a lot like Jesus's call for his followers to turn the other cheek. When someone disrespected their subordinate in those days, they slapped the person with the back of their hand. When Jesus encouraged turning the other cheek, this was not to invite more abuse - but to force the abuser to slap with the open palm of the hand, a gesture reserved for equals. This was to elevate slaves and servants in the eyes of their owners and commanders; to add an awareness for the lack of basic human dignity inherent in unjust systems. Today, many social movements are also encouraging us to see these inequalities. Our divisive public discourse (or the way we speak and write to one another) has reached new lows. We all need a call to action, a challenge to love, and an invitation to pray for those we find problematic or troublesome. Join us this Sunday at 10:30AM (in person or online) to learn more about how....
LOVE and blessings, Pastor Emily Flemming

Our Habitat for Humanity Build Faith Build is a GO!

After getting pushed back the foundation has finally been poured and September 5th is our Build Day! If you, or someone you know would like to volunteer, no experience is required. Masks will need to be worn and social distancing will be kept, along with providing hand sanitizer, etc. You must also provide your own sack lunch. If your family is facing the uncertainty of what's to come please reach out. We love you and want you to know that we're here to help out in any way!
