Can we have Freedom without Love?

Today is Juneteenth, or Freedom Day. On June 19, 1865, President Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation finally reached the enslaved African-Americans of Galveston, TX, two and a half years after their freedom was issued. It reminds me of how much work we still need to do! Today is an opportunity to renew our commitment to work for freedom, justice, compassion and love for ALL people; not in the name of politics or history, but in the name of the True and Living God, through Jesus Christ his Son and our Savior. This Sunday we'll focus on cultivating and spreading God's love and freedom, as we study Acts 2:37-47, the conclusion of Peter's first sermon directly after Pentecost - a day when 3000+ men (and countless women and children) decided to follow Jesus.

Update on returning to in-person worship

The Coming Home Team met for a 4th time yesterday and if the number of new Covid-19 cases in Weld County holds steady and/or continues to decline, we may be back in our sanctuary as soon as next Sunday, June 28th! We know for some, that may seem too soon.
And for others, it is already long overdue. We are taking all precautions to protect you (more details shared next week, as well as what you can expect). For now, continue to pray for our community, and know we will be here, online and in-person, for you all!
We thank God for our cheerful givers! But our finances continue to be tight, which makes purchasing the necessary equipment to reopen our church buildings difficult. Could you make a special offering this week?

All are invited to join the Worship Design Team next Tuesday, June 23 at 6:00PM in the Upper Room (with masks, socially distanced, no touching please). We will finalize procedures for in-person worship. If you are creative, cautious or curios, and committed to excellence, we need YOU! Thanks for joining us.
