LIVE worship Sunday 09/13/2020 at 10:30AM, Wrestling with God, Genesis 32:22-31.
(feed begins a few minutes early)
What are you wrestling with?

We are wrestle - with pandemics, natural disasters, our fears, our insecurities. But the Bible (Old and New Testament) offer ways to move through the struggles, taking them to God and Jesus. Read Genesis 32 this week to learn how one of our spiritual forefathers handled his wrestling match with God.
If you have considered joining us in-person on Sundays, know that we've only had 20-25 of our maximum of 50 people  in the sanctuary, that we are all wearing masks, keeping 8-10 feet social distance, and using hand sanitizer. If you are not quite ready, but would like to visit the sanctuary or Prayer Room during the week, we are open Tuesday-Friday 10:00AM - 3:00PM. The private service of Communion, counsel or prayer is available if you call ahead. Please worship with us this Sunday at 10:30AM in-person or online at this YouTube link (which you can also find on our Facebook page and church website). We will be celebrating a Virtual Fellowship Hour after worship. Grab yourself a coffee, cuppa tea or something delightful to eat, then click this link to catch up!
Blessings, love and peace, even as we wrestle, Pastor Emily
The Finance Committee will meet on Tuesday, September 15th at 5:30PM. Our annual generosity campaign begins early this year - in September. Please begin praying now about ways to EXTEND your love and giving in the coming months and year. To give, you can stop by the office (Tues-Fri 10AM-3PM), mail a check, give online or via text message (with button).

A Celebration of the Life and Legacy of longtime church member Virginia Lindblad will be held on Friday, September 25th at 2:00PM. Please join us.
Next Thursday, September 17th at 5:30PM the Women's Bible Study will meet to begin a new text: "Footnotes, Major Lessons from Minor Bible Characters" by Julie Lyles Carter. This four-week video study is designed to encourage us as we discover our potential to shine brightly for God. They plan to meet at the church with Covid precautions and social distancing, but Zoom can be arranged if you let Pat Ferrell know. Please call her (970-227-4034) to order a workbook (around $12). Or get your own from Cokesbury.com and Christianbooks.com and join the group!
The Pilgrimage has begun... but there is still time to join.

Pastor Emily and over 600 others in our region are dreaming of a world where racism ceases to plague us, a Land of Love, and working with daily meditations and weekly Zoom gatherings to move us towards that future. All are welcome!

September is Suicide Awareness Month
Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death in people aged 10-24. Our young people are struggling as outlets like sports and arts have been cancelled due to the pandemic. Thanks to a grant from our Mountain Sky Conference, we are offering some real, timely support! Join our Youth Mental Health First Aid Course, an 8-hour education program to prevent teen suicide and recognize the warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents, as well as how to provide early intervention for an adolescent in crisis. This course is designed for adults and is already half-full. If you would like to register, please email the instructor, Dr. Shannon Devlin or call/text her at 970-381-4938 with your questions or interest. Space is limited so please register today! Although this is a free program for participants, all donations of money or pre-packaged food/drink would be helpful to defray costs and be able to continue this education for more people. Please contact Donna Dodrill to donate (phone 303-641-6067).

Even though this plywood will be on the ceiling of the newest Habitat for Humanity Faith Build home, we can easily see all the well wishes and blessings that we gathered on this "Blessing Board." Join Pastor Emily and handful of others on our Build Day, Saturday, Sept. 19th. Email Cathy or Cheryl now!
